Currently, a quote cannot be duplicated from a Sales Order. However once an order is created, changes often occur on the SO, and simply duplicating the original quote may not reflect those updates. However, generating a quote from the Sales Order would ensure that all modifications are captured without requiring an immediate order creation. This approach would improve efficiency for repeat quotes, ensuring that changes made at the Sales Order stage are incorporated and reducing the risk of errors in future quotes.

We are constantly running into this issue. Clients regularly want quotes for reorders and it is a waste of time to re-enter when all the info is in an existing job.

WE LOVE REORDERS! When a customer calls to place a reorder but they have to get an updated quote for approval, and perhaps they need to change the quantity etc., that new quote should be based on the completed job, rather than having to go back to the previous quote. And this is because of the possibility that anything changed from the original quote to the job. So being able to copy the completed job to a new quote is critical (and what if a new opportunity were built into that copy-job to-quote process?).
When we first started using SmartBooks, we were only able to copy quote-to-quote or job-to-job, but enough distributors requested the job-to-quote feature and they made it happen in a matter of months!
